Unlock ICT started as a small networking outfit in 2017 and has grown into a full-stack technology partner for private businesses, corporate institutions and government agencies — headquartered in Niger State, and now serving clients across Nigeria and in other countries.
Unlock ICT was founded in 2017 on a simple premise: most organisations in Niger State weren't short on ambition, they were short on technology partners who would stay after the invoice was paid. We started with structured cabling and small office networks in Minna, and reinvested every contract into new capability — software engineering, enterprise systems, data science, and eventually robotics and automation — growing our reach to clients across Nigeria and beyond along the way.
That steady build-up is why, years later, we were trusted to design and support revenue systems for the Niger State Board of Internal Revenue (NGSIRS) — work that sits at the intersection of nearly everything we do: secure networks, reliable software, and data you can govern by.
Mission. To give private, corporate and government clients — wherever they are — technology systems they can run, trust and grow with, engineered by a team that stays reachable long after delivery.
Approach. We design for maintainability first. Every network, platform or dashboard we ship comes with documentation, staff training and a direct line to the engineer who built it.
Engr. Idris I. Kolo establishes Unlock ICT in Niger State, starting with structured cabling and small-office networking for private clients.
The team expands into custom software development and enterprise solutions, taking on its first corporate and institutional clients.
Unlock ICT builds out a dedicated data science practice, delivering dashboards and reporting systems to clients managing growing volumes of operational data.
Unlock ICT enters a formal partnership with the Niger State Government, extending its network and systems work into public infrastructure.
Working with the Niger State Board of Internal Revenue (NGSIRS), the company deploys digital revenue generation and tracking systems for the state.
Unlock ICT adds robotics and automation to its service line, continuing to serve private, corporate and government clients across Nigeria and beyond.
"We don't measure a project by the day it goes live — we measure it by whether it's still running smoothly a year later, with the client's own staff confident enough to manage it. That's the bar for everything we build, from a single office network to a state revenue platform."
Based in Minna, on-site when it matters, reachable by WhatsApp when it doesn't.
Every proposal comes from an engineer, not a sales script — we recommend what we'd actually build.
From a five-person office to a state government agency — systems are designed to grow with the client.
Our longest-running relationships, including with government, started as small pilot projects.
